About this Virtual Run: Join us in celebrating Holly, a wife, mother, friend and positive role model, in running her 50th race in honor of her 50th year! She set the goal in 2017 to complete Fifty to Fifty, supporting a variety of charities along the way. From 5Ks, 10Ks, plenty of Spartans and even a three legged race, Holly has exceeded her goals and continues to inspire others along the way.
Please help us celebrate her 50th birthday by joining us in this virtual run. Run, walk, crawl, or barrel-roll… just get out of the house and join us in supporting healthy living and celebrating Holly!
Holly is all about living a long, happy life through exercise and fitness. Strength For Life, an organization that embraces this belief by helping cancer patients with exercise, will receive all profits made from this run.
Why the dinosaur? She has earned the nickname “T-Rex” from those of us who love her and run with her often. She runs with her arms back and just her hands in front of her body resembling a T-Rex! In case you thought it had to do with her age, we don’t make fun of that as she usually beats many people (men and women) half her age! She rocks!
About the Charity: Strength for Life is a non-profit organization providing FREE exercise classes and wellness retreats to cancer patients/survivors on Long Island. SFL was founded in memory of Evelyn Knapp, an exercise physiologist, who continued strength training and running during breast cancer treatment. She said it gave her a feeling of control in an uncontrollable situation and made it her mission to help other cancer patients feel their absolute best in their fight. Sadly, Evelyn lost her battle, but her mission was not lost and Strength for Life was formed to make her vision a reality and keep her memory alive.
