I can't believe we just did that! I found Virtual Strides through a Facebook sponsored post just this afternoon. I wanted a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. So, the One Step Closer Virtual 5k was PERFECT! My husband decided to walk with me for support, and of course, our four dogs joined us! We made them bibs to wear just for fun! Thank you, Virtual Strides! I will be doing this again! I can't wait to receive my medal!! I was at Kennedy Space Center today and ran into 2 people - one a teacher from Nebraska who said she knows you very well - who attended a group conference and did the One Step race this morning! They wore your metal (which I recognized) for the Astronaut non-profit and I asked them about it, it was fantastic! Attached are my results. I'm not sure if this would be a validated run. I visited Cape Canaveral over the weekend coming in from California just for this anniversary and scheduled a 10k run. But it was super hot and I ran out of water, and needed to walk the rest of the way. I ran 5.67 miles and walked 2 miles for the rest. if this doesn't count, please confirm and I will do another 10K next weekend when I return to Northern CA. It was late evening and as I hit the 5k mark I looked over the bay to the east.
