To Benefit: Copper Mountain College Foundation
Fighting Cacti
Stay sharp with the inaugural Copper Mountain College (CMC) Fighting Cacti Virtual Run. CMC, located in Joshua Tree, CA may be the smallest of 114 California Community Colleges, but it is also the one with the most heart! Established in 2001, CMC launched its athletic program with men’s and women’s basketball in 2017. Needing a mascot, the community voted on the Fighting Cacti, and Spike was born. Now, three years later, you can stick with us and earn your first 3.5″ Spike medal all while benefiting Copper Mountain College students. Run or walk whenever and wherever you want to support the cause!
About the Charity
Copper Mountain College Foundation exists to maximize the educational opportunities for students in the Joshua Tree Gateway Communities. Breaking down barriers by subsidizing bus transportation, providing a hot meal on campus, and operating a childcare center helps students stay focused on their education. The CMC Foundation provides scholarships, book grants, publishes our campus literary magazine as well as enhancing the campus facilities. The CMC Foundation knows education often happens outside the classroom and our donors are committed to making educational dreams come true.
Virtual Strides Partner Event: This event is part of the Virtual Strides Partners Program. Copper Mountain College Foundation will receive 100% of the net proceeds from this event after Virtual Strides’ partner costs are deducted.
